Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley denied he suffered shin splints Thursday, contrasting a statement made by general manager Reggie McKenzie, who said Conley could miss “a few days” with the ailment.

“He’s got shin splints, so it could be a few days, I don’t know in particular, but once he starts running… It shouldn’t take that long. We’re just gonna give him some time to heal up and we’ll get him out there,” McKenzie said, via Levi Damien of Silver and Black Pride.

Conley denied McKenzie’s assertion outright Thursday:

Conley proceeded to retweet a number of supporters, including one who postulated his injury was an example of the media creating “fake news.”
