Joe Flacco‘s back injury was reportedly confirmed as minor by a second medical opinion last week, but the Baltimore Ravens still don’t know when to expect their starting quarterback to return to the practice field.

“We know he’s getting better every single day,” head coach John Harbaugh said Saturday, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley “Obviously, we have a plan for him, football-wise, when he gets back. But we haven’t been told when yet.”

Flacco’s workload will reportedly be slowly increased, but it appears the Ravens are being cautious with their franchise player.

The 32-year-old is coming off a subpar season in which he threw 20 touchdowns to 15 interceptions and produced a poor 6.4 yards-per-attempt average.

But with arguably the best receiving corps of his career, the former Super Bowl MVP is well-placed for a bounce-back year if he can overcome his back issues.
