The Miami Dolphins are thinking the same thing as the rest of the football world.

Following Ryan Tannehill‘s injury at practice Thursday, where the quarterback appeared to suffer a knee injury on a non-contact play, Colin Kaepernick‘s name came up within the Dolphins front office, ESPN’s Josina Anderson reports.

Any decision on adding a free agent, Kaepernick or otherwise, would have to wait until the Dolphins receive more information on Tannehill’s status. It’s only logical the club would weigh its options, as Miami is fearing the worst, reports Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald.

Kaepernick is far and away the most intriguing quarterback available.

His lengthy time on the free-agent market has made for a controversial topic, as many believe he’s struggled to generate interest because of the reaction to his national anthem protests from last year.

Kaepernick played at a relatively high level after returning from a series of offseason surgeries in 2016, completing 59.2 percent of passes for 2,241 yards for 16 touchdowns, and just four interceptions.
