Brandon Marshall was signed by the New York Giants to stabilize a young, talented receiving corps and he has no issue surrendering the limelight to his teammates.

Marshall issued the highest praise imaginable to teammate Odell Beckham Jr., stating that the three-time Pro Bowler is the top player in the league.

“So, Odell obviously is the best player in the NFL,” Marshall said to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. “He’s going to get a lot of attention, on and off the field. As a teammate, you got to be there to support him and you have to be able to deal with that as well because he’s a super … he’s not even a superstar, he’s a rock star. It’s something that the NFL has never seen before. This guy’s a global icon already at the age of what, 24, 25?”

Beckham recently said that he wants to become the NFL’s highest-paid player and his goal hasn’t gone unnoticed by both teammates and management.

“He deserves to get paid, we’re going to pay him, it’s just a question of when we enter into the contract, and I don’t have a timetable on it right now,” Giants owner John Mara said. “I just don’t think there’s any need to rush into it. He’s going to end up getting paid at some point.”

Through three seasons, Beckham has emerged as one of the NFL’s brightest young talents, recording several league records during his tenure with the Giants. It doesn’t appear Beckham is slowing down any time soon and in due time, it won’t be surprising if more people join Marshall in the chorus.
