Booker, a fourth-round pick in last year’s draft, was set to enter his sophomore season competing for a role in Denver’s offensive backfield rotation.
A six-to-eight week timeline, even if he’s able to return on the short side, would appear to put Booker’s Week 1 availability into jeopardy.
The injury should result in a more significant workload for sixth-round rookie De’Angelo Henderson over the next few weeks. Additional reps in both training camp and preseason action could very well help him carve out a role in the unsettled backfield situation.
