Former USC and Los Angeles Raiders quarterback Todd Marinovich, whose pro football career was derailed by substance abuse, is attempting to return to the game.
Now 48 years old, Marinovich will compete to start at quarterback for the SoCal Coyotes of the World Developmental Football League, according to The Desert Sun’s Shad Powers.
Marinovich was an assistant coach for the team last season.
Less than two years ago, he was arrested for drug possession and public nudity. He says he’s been sober ever since.
A first-round pick in 1991, Marinovich was released by the Raiders two years later.
