Jerry Jones has followed Kurt Warner’s lead and will have his other half introduce him for next month’s Hall of Fame induction speech.
The Dallas Cowboys owner will be presented by his wife, Gene Jones, before he officially enters Canton as part of the 2017 class.
“Any recognition that I may have received throughout our years in the NFL has been the result of a group effort involving all of my family,” said Jerry, according to Nick Eatman of the Cowboys’ official site. “Gene is the backbone of our family, and her influence guides and inspires all of us. She is my closest advisor, my best friend, and it is only fitting that she present me, and represent our entire family, at this very special time.”
Jerry and Gene have been married for 54 years and met while attending the University of Arkansas.
It’s fitting that a member of Jerry’s family will introduce him, as the Cowboys and the Jones family have been synonymous ever since the eccentric 74-year-old bought the franchise 27 years ago. All three of the couple’s children, Stephen Jones, Charlotte Jones Anderson, and Jerry Jones, Jr., hold executive positions with the Cowboys.
