DeAngelo Williams isn’t planning on embarking on a new career as a pro wrestler. Not yet, at least.

After winning his debut in a tag team match at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary XV, free-agent running back Williams told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he still wants to play football.

“I’m definitely playing football,” Williams said. “I guess you could say I’m waiting on the phone call. I guess you could say that. I mean, not guess. You can say that. I’m waiting on the phone call with a GM or head coach or whoever decides they need my services. I’ll be ready. You can rest assured of that. I work out every day. I keep in shape because I know once that phone call comes – when it comes, not if – I’ll be ready to step up and deliver.”

Williams spent the last two seasons as Le’Veon Bell‘s backup for the Pittsburgh Steelers, producing 343 yards rushing and six total touchdowns in 2016.

Now 34 years old, there’s no guarantee any team will call Williams to inquire about his services as a running back.
