Deflategate is now (finally) a thing of the past, and so too are any hard feelings between Roger Goodell and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
In fact, despite the significant penalties issued as a result of the investigation – a $1-million fine, forfeiture of draft picks, and a four-game suspension for Tom Brady – the NFL commissioner says his relationship with Kraft was never even strained in the first place.
Goodell explained as much to Allon Sinai of The Jerusalem Post while attending the inauguration of The Kraft Family Sports Complex in Jerusalem.
The two friends and NFL elites even got together for a picture.
Kraft may not share Goodell’s opinion on this front, however, as he’d stated prior to Super Bowl LI that he wasn’t sure if the relationship between them “will ever be the same.”
But the two seemed just fine after the Patriots overcame all those obstacles to come away with yet another Lombardi Trophy just days later.
Winning cures all, right?
