In the next step in the weight-loss program the Seattle Seahawks have mandated for new running back Eddie Lacy, he needs to weigh 250 pounds or less on Monday in order to earn another $55,000 bonus, a league source informed Sheil Kapadia of ESPN.
Lacy first earned a $55,000 bonus for weighing in at 253 pounds on May 15. Lacy’s weight has fluctuated throughout his four-year career spent with the Green Bay Packers. He was signed by the Seahawks in March to a one-year, $5.5-million deal that includes $3 million in guarantees.
Upon his signing, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he wants Lacy “big,” but there appears to be a limit to what the team will accept.
There is plenty of competition in the Seattle backfield, one that includes Thomas Rawls, C.J. Prosise, and Alex Collins, so Lacy will have to be in his best shape to hold off all comers.
