The Kansas City Chiefs surprised the NFL community by releasing receiver Jeremy Maclin on Friday. The decision was not an easy one for head coach Andy Reid.

Reid had coached Maclin both with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009 to 2012 and during Maclin’s last two seasons with the Chiefs.

“This is the worst part of the job,” Reid told the media Tuesday.

Not only did the pair spend six seasons together, Reid attended Maclin’s wedding two weeks prior to the receiver’s release.

Reid told reporters that Tyreek Hill will get the first crack at playing the position in the offense vacated by Maclin.
