Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith is sick of losing, and he’s trying to do something about it.

The team’s leading tackler in 2016 called out his teammates after practice Tuesday.

“With the players that we have I just think as a team we should be further than we are,” Smith said, according to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco. “As players, we’ve got to do our part in the sense of it’s not scheme, none of that. It’s what do we want? What’s our mentality going to be?

” … The mindset of this team, things that we should be using to beat opponents are still beating us.”

The Jaguars appear to be loaded with talent on defense, with Smith and promising young players like Jalen Ramsey, Myles Jack, and Dante Fowler joined this offseason by free-agent additions A.J. Bouye and Calais Campbell.

Smith didn’t get into specifics about what he expects to see on the practice field that he isn’t, but it’s clear he doesn’t believe the defense is performing up to its potential.
