In short, Tyron Smith is an absolute freak.
“We always joke, if God had to make a left tackle he would make him like Tyron Smith,” Martin said in an appearance on “The Hawk Cast,” via The Dallas Morning News. “Just massive, long. He’s 320, he’s got a six-pack. It’s just not fair. He’s super durable and he just erases that defensive end from other teams every game. When he gets his hands on you, it’s pretty much over. The best thing about Tyron is he works harder than anyone.”
To Martin’s point, Smith is a phenomenal athlete who’s been one of the league’s top left tackles for the better part of the six seasons to open his career in Dallas.
With Smith on the blindside, Martin at right guard, and Travis Frederick at center, the Cowboys have themselves a trio of perennial Pro Bowlers leading the way for Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. And all three are still just 26 years old.
La’el Collins making a successful transition to right tackle, where he’s expected to replace recently retired veteran Doug Free, would be another major boost to what’s already the league’s most talented offensive line.
Best of luck to opposing defenses.
