Chris Thompson averaged little more than four carries per game for the Washington Redskins last year. He expects his usage to increase in the upcoming season.

Entering OTAs, the four-year pro said he expects a larger workload due to his proven durability, ESPN’s John Keim reports.

Thompson ranked third on the team in rushing yards with 356 on just 68 carries. He bested his teammates by averaging 5.2 yards per carry, however.

The Redskins’ depth chart currently features last year’s lead rusher Rob Kelley, Thompson, Matt Jones, Keith Marshall, and fourth-round draft pick Samaje Perine.

With that group, Washington will hope to improve on its 21st placing in rushing yards.
