Cleveland Browns safety Jabrill Peppers has denied the veracity of a report alleging he was using lean – a combination of promethazine and codeine cough syrup mixed with Sprite – and MDMA.

ESPN Cleveland’s Sabrina Parr said Wednesday that Peppers was destined for failure in the NFL because he was “on the lean and the molly,” using his diluted urine sample at the scouting combine as justification for the claim. Parr tried to backtrack on her claims, but was fired Thursday.

Peppers denounced the allegations Friday during the Browns’ rookie minicamp.

“I’m not even going to get into that. Whatever drugs she said I’ve done, I’ve never done in my life,” Peppers said, via Mary Kay Cabot of “No one’s going to spoil this for me.”

Peppers will be tested frequently throughout the season, but in the interim, he’s expected to be a major contributor to the Browns’ defense in his rookie season.
