Following the hiring of general manager Brandon Beane on Tuesday, the Buffalo Bills took to Twitter to offer their apologies to the Carolina Panthers.

Beane was the assistant GM in Carolina for the last two seasons and had spent 19 years with the organization. His hiring comes four months after the Bills brought in new head coach Sean McDermott, formerly the Panthers’ defensive coordinator.

The Bills can only hope the hirings lead to the kind of success the Panthers have enjoyed in recent seasons, which included three playoff berths and a Super Bowl appearance in the last four years.
