The New York Jets are drawing inspiration from the world of wrestling ahead of the upcoming season.

Jets head coach Todd Bowles overhauled his staff this spring, adding Hall of Fame linebacker Kevin Greene to the personnel group as an outside linebackers coach.

Bowles compared Greene to two of the most famous wrestlers in WWE history Saturday.

“Kevin is like Hulk Hogan and Randy (Macho Man) Savage,” Bowles said to ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

Greene was inducted into the Hall of Fame last summer and the Jets, who finished 28th in scoring defense last season, could use the inspiration from someone of his pedigree.

“He coaches like he plays,” Bowles said. “He was an intense player, he’s an intense coach. But don’t mistake that for not being bright. He’s a very bright guy.”
