The New England Patriots have signed running back James White to a three-year contract extension through the 2020 season, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

White was a hero of Super Bowl LI, scoring three touchdowns, including the game-tying and game-winning scores.

The 25-year-old was a fourth-round pick of the Patriots in 2014, but had spent most of his rookie season as a healthy scratch, appearing in just three games. He had his best season in 2016, rushing for 166 yards and putting up 551 receiving yards with five touchdowns.
