Two familiar foes could spend some time together this offseason.

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Jacksonville Jaguars vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin are discussing the possibility of holding joint practices in New England before their preseason opener, reports Mike Reiss of ESPN.

Belichick and Coughlin have a long history together. They both served under Bill Parcells with the New York Giants from 1988-90, and Coughlin is the only head coach to beat Belichick on the NFL’s biggest stage. His Giants took down the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI and Super Bowl XLII.

The 70-year-old has made it clear he intends to be a hands-on executive, but it’s still noteworthy that Coughlin’s reportedly helping organize the practices instead of Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone.
