John Lynch won’t have to wait long to make his first pick as general manager of the San Francisco 49ers, but he’s willing to wait just a bit longer.
The 49ers hold the second pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, but are willing to move up or down the board if the price is right.
“We’re open for business,” Lynch said Wednesday, according to Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee. “We’ll listen to anything.
“I’ve always said – you don’t like being at 2-14, but you like having the second pick. It puts you in the driver’s seat. A lot of options at your disposal, and we’ll explore every single one of them.”
With no obvious choice for the 49ers at No. 2 after the Cleveland Browns presumably pick Myles Garrett first overall, it’s not a surprise that Lynch is willing to move down the board, as he has a plethora of holes to fill on the roster.
Lynch says he’s already heard from at least one team about a potential deal.
“I’m not going to get into specifics on that, but there’s interest,” he said.
