Free agent defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins visited with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, a source told ESPN’s Field Yates.

Hankins is arguably the best player still available on the free-agent market.

The 25-year-old played his first four seasons with the New York Giants before hitting free agency this spring. He reportedly has an offer standing from his former team, but is in search of a bigger pay day.

Hankins had 43 tackles and three sacks through 16 games last season as a part of the Giants’ revamped defense.

Adding Hankins would be a major upgrade for the Colts, who missed out on signing Dontari Poe earlier in free agency.
