Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Melvin Ingram did not attend the start of voluntary team workouts Monday, Michael Gehlken of Pro Football Talk reports.

The Chargers placed the franchise tag on Ingram, but he has yet to sign the tender. Players currently under contract with the team or have been offered the tag aren’t required to attend the first stage of the Chargers’ offseason program.

Ingram was an integral part of the Chargers’ defense last season, recording 60 tackles, eight sacks, and four forced fumbles, playing in all 16 games.

The Chargers and Ingram face a July 15 deadline to reach a long-term extension.
