The New England Patriots haven’t given up hope that the jersey stolen from Tom Brady‘s locker after the Super Bowl will be found.

The story made national headlines in the wake of the game, but there hasn’t been an update on the case for about a month now.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the trail has gone cold, the Patriots say.

“We know that there are many agencies working on it and I think we are all hopefully optimistic that it will get resolved soon,” a Patriots spokesperson told Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio on Sunday.

“Many agencies” is a little hard to believe, considering that local law enforcement in Houston didn’t seem particularly concerned with the theft. It’s hard to imagine which agencies might be involved beyond the respective security teams for the NFL and the Patriots, both of which have limited legal powers with which to conduct an investigation.

Perhaps the jersey will surface one day, but chances are we’ll never find out who has Brady’s historic attire.
