The terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but Barwin signed a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million, a source told ESPN’s Adam Caplan.
Barwin is reunited with Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. The pair spent two seasons together with the Houston Texans, and the pass rusher produced one of the best years of his career under Phillips in 2011, racking up 11.5 sacks.
At 30 years old and coming off back-to-back seasons without double-digit sacks, Barwin will likely be a rotational player for the Rams, though his experience in Phillips’ scheme should be an invaluable asset as Los Angeles transitions to a 3-4 defense.
