Derek Carr has a shiny new weapon to play with.

The Oakland Raiders have signed free-agent wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, the team announced Monday.

The signing was first reported by Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Patterson left a visit with the Raiders on Monday without a deal, but Tafur adds that the pass-catcher then returned to the team’s facility.

The former first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings produced a solid season after a poor 2015 campaign, catching 52 passes for 453 yards and two touchdowns.

Patterson lands in an enviable spot, with the Raiders boasting one of the youngest and most talented offenses in the league, led by Carr, Amari Cooper, and Michael Crabtree.

He will also be a substantial upgrade for Oakland’s special teams unit after being named an All-Pro returner last season.
