The Dallas Cowboys reportedly want one of their all-time greats to return home one last time.

The Cowboys have been in contact with DeMarcus Ware about signing a one-day contract with the team after the star pass rusher announced his retirement Monday, a source told Jane Slater of NFL Network.

Ware was reportedly considering returning to Dallas to play next season, but ultimately opted to retire after 12 seasons in the NFL, the last two of which had been marred by back issues.

The nine-time Pro Bowler was drafted by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He spent nine seasons in Dallas, becoming the franchise’s all-time sack leader (117) before finishing his career with the Denver Broncos.
