Don’t count Steve Smith as one of the people calling for Joe Mixon to get a fresh start in the NFL.

The highly touted Oklahoma running back prospect, who was banned from the combine due to a 2014 incident where he violently struck a woman that was caught on video, met with several teams last week, including the Cincinnati Bengals.

While some voices around the league have been supportive of Mixon hopefully turning around his life, Smith responded to a story that the Bengals were meeting with the troubled prospect by taking a shot at Mixon and his former rival club.

Smith retired from the Baltimore Ravens after last season to join NFL Network as an analyst, so he will likely get a chance to further explain his criticism soon, though many already agree with him.

Smith’s charity – the Steve Smith Family Foundation – works to eradicate domestic violence and promote family health and wellness.
