The New York Giants are expressing interest in free-agent offensive lineman D.J. Fluker, Art Stapleton of The Record reports.

Fluker was cut by the Los Angeles Chargers this offseason after failing to live up to expectations that followed his first-round draft selection in 2013.

While he certainly wouldn’t be expected to solve New York’s longstanding issues up front, taking a chance on the 25-year-old could be a worthwhile gamble given the state of the position group.

Fluker started all 59 appearances over four seasons with the Chargers.

If signed, the Alabama product would likely compete for snaps at right guard or right tackle.
