The Miami Dolphins have landed veteran linebacker Lawrence Timmons on a two-year, $12-million contract, a source informed ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Timmons spent 10 seasons playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers and, facing free agency, said in January that he’s “die-hard Pittsburgh” and wished to remain with the Steelers.

Instead, the 30-year-old will join an ascending Dolphins team in need of help getting to the passer. Miami finished tied for 19th in the league with 33 sacks.

Timmons has 981 tackles and 35.5 sacks to his name for his career.
