The Cleveland Browns are expected to make a strong push to acquire quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo from the New England Patriots, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Cleveland received Brock Osweiler in a trade with the Houston Texans on Thursday, but there’s been rampant speculation about whether or not the beleaguered quarterback will remain on the Browns’ roster for the 2017 season.

The Browns hold the No. 1 and No. 12 selections in the upcoming NFL draft, and the Patriots have reportedly been trying to get a first-round pick in exchange for Garoppolo.

Cleveland is reportedly expected to move on from Robert Griffin III ahead of the 2017 season.

If the Browns don’t acquire another quarterback before the season begins, it’s likely that Cody Kessler will start in Week 1.
